Bonnyville Mounties say a bogus Amber Alert is being spread by text message.

Police there said they've taken several calls today over an Amber Alert claiming a three-year-old child had just been abducted in Bonnyville by someone driving a silver truck. The text message also provided a license plate number for the truck.
